On the 21st of August my best friend Danae called me and asked if I wanted to dye her hair, and of course I said yes. Her parents we're going camping for a few days so she was home alone, and what else would we do than do stupid things? Her mom had no idea that this was happening and we were kind of scared as to how she would react.
Thursday, August 27th started my journey. I picked up Danae and we went straight to Sally's Beauty Supply. We asked the two girls for some advice and then left the store with a few packets of bleach and four things of hair dye (two pink and two blue). We left with the plan of only doing an Ombre, but after dinner and a few YouTube videos, we decided to do her whole head. So, we made out way back to Sally's to get more bleach. When we got back to her house we finally got started. I've dyed hair in the past but I had NEVER bleached it before so we really had no idea how it was going to turn out. This whole bleaching/dying process was supposed to be done in two days- Day 1= bleaching, Day 2= Dying. But the whole process took THREE days. Day one of bleaching actually went pretty well, way better than I expected actually. Except, we ran out of bleach. Of course. After letting it sit and washing it out, I went home for the night.
Friday, August 28th. Danae didn't wake up to her alarm and missed school, because of this Danae wasn't allowed to hang out, and I wasn't able to stay the night. So, we did the only logical thing and snuck me into the house. Savanna joined us this day and she and I went to
Sally's for the third time to get more bleach. I finished bleaching Danae's hair and Savanna left after we washed it out. We then started the dying process- doing half of her head blue, and the other half pink. This part was one hundred times easier and so it went pretty quickly. But would this be a Sara and Danae adventure if things didn't go wrong? We ran out of pink dye with a small chunk of hair left uncolored, and the same thing with the blue. One of my gloves also broke so it looked like I murdered a smurf. We decided to call it night because it was already one in the morning; I was going to stay the night but we got scared her parents would come home early- so I left.
Saturday, August 29th. Danae and I woke up way too early (for us) and we went to Sally's as soon as it opened. The two girls were not even surprised to see us walking through that door, but they were impressed by what we'd done so far. So that's something. We bought more hair color and rushed home to finish before her mom and step dad got home. And we did in fact finish and it turned out pretty good if I may say so myself. Even better though- Danae was happy with it. (and her hair didn't fall out😂)
